How much does a website cost on the Gold Coast in 2026?

What a small business website really costs on the Gold Coast in 2026, what drives the price up or down, and how to compare quotes without getting caught out.

A laptop and desktop computer on a bright home office desk

It’s the first question almost every business owner asks us, and it’s a fair one. How much does a website cost on the Gold Coast? The honest answer is that it depends on what the site needs to do. But “it depends” isn’t much help when you’re trying to set a budget, so here’s how pricing actually works, what you should expect to pay, and how to compare quotes properly.

The typical price ranges

Independent Australian cost guides put a professionally designed small business website at roughly $2,000 to $6,000, with fully custom builds higher and online stores higher again. Agency quotes on the Gold Coast often land above that, especially once copywriting, photography and SEO are bundled in.

In practice, most quotes fall into one of three groups:

  • DIY and template sites. Cheapest upfront. You do most of the work and the result usually looks like a template, because it is one.
  • Professional small business sites. A custom design, built properly, with the core pages a service business needs and basic SEO set up from day one.
  • Custom and e-commerce builds. Bigger sites with booking systems, online stores, member areas or lots of location and service pages.

What actually drives the price

Number of pages and templates

A five page site and a fifty page site are very different jobs. What matters most is how many unique page layouts are needed. Ten suburb pages built from one well designed template cost far less than ten completely different designs.

Custom design versus a theme

A custom design is planned around your customers and what you need them to do. A theme is planned around looking good in a demo. Custom costs more, but it’s usually the difference between a site that looks fine and a site that brings in enquiries.

Functionality

Quote forms, online booking, payments, e-commerce and integrations with your CRM all add build and testing time. Be clear about what you actually need on day one and what can wait.

Content

Someone has to write the words and source the images. If you supply them, the price drops. If you want them written for you, budget for it. Good copy is often the single biggest factor in whether a site converts.

SEO setup

Page titles, meta descriptions, headings, schema, sitemaps, redirects from your old site and page speed should all be handled during the build. Fixing them later always costs more.

The ongoing costs people forget

The build is only part of the picture. Once your site is live, expect to pay for:

  • Your domain name, renewed every year or two
  • Hosting, ideally fast Australian hosting with daily backups
  • Premium plugins or theme licences, if your site uses them
  • Updates, security and small content changes
  • Ongoing SEO or marketing, if you want the site to keep growing

A cheap build on slow hosting with no one looking after it can end up costing more than a well built site, simply because it never brings in work.

How Vectorr prices websites

We keep it simple, because surprise invoices are the worst part of most web projects. There are two ways to work with us:

  • A one-off website from $3,000 + GST. Our standard package covers your core pages plus up to 10 service and location pages, a conversion-focused layout, basic SEO setup, contact form integration, WordPress CMS setup and two rounds of revisions.
  • A monthly subscription. Full website design and development is included in our Business plan, alongside SEO, landing pages and campaign work. If you already have a site and just need updates and new pages, our Growth plan covers copywriting and website updates.

Third-party costs like your domain, hosting and premium plugins are always separate, and we tell you what they’ll be before anything is purchased. You can see the full breakdown on our pricing page.

How to compare website quotes

  1. Send every designer the same brief. Same pages, same features, same goals. Otherwise you’re comparing apples with pineapples.
  2. Ask what’s included. Copywriting, SEO setup, mobile design, forms, analytics, training and revisions should all be spelled out.
  3. Ask who owns the site. You should own your domain, your content and your website files, with admin access from day one.
  4. Look at real work. Click through live sites the team has built, on your phone as well as your laptop. You can browse our concept websites, which are fully built and live to click through.
  5. Ask about after launch. Who updates it, how fast, and what does that cost?

The short version

Budget enough for a site that’s designed around your customers, built properly and set up for search, then make sure someone is looking after it once it’s live.
