What a small business website really costs on the Gold Coast in 2026, what drives the price up or down, and how to compare quotes without getting caught out.

It’s the first question almost every business owner asks us, and it’s a fair one. How much does a website cost on the Gold Coast? The honest answer is that it depends on what the site needs to do. But “it depends” isn’t much help when you’re trying to set a budget, so here’s how pricing actually works, what you should expect to pay, and how to compare quotes properly.
Independent Australian cost guides put a professionally designed small business website at roughly $2,000 to $6,000, with fully custom builds higher and online stores higher again. Agency quotes on the Gold Coast often land above that, especially once copywriting, photography and SEO are bundled in.
In practice, most quotes fall into one of three groups:
A five page site and a fifty page site are very different jobs. What matters most is how many unique page layouts are needed. Ten suburb pages built from one well designed template cost far less than ten completely different designs.
A custom design is planned around your customers and what you need them to do. A theme is planned around looking good in a demo. Custom costs more, but it’s usually the difference between a site that looks fine and a site that brings in enquiries.
Quote forms, online booking, payments, e-commerce and integrations with your CRM all add build and testing time. Be clear about what you actually need on day one and what can wait.
Someone has to write the words and source the images. If you supply them, the price drops. If you want them written for you, budget for it. Good copy is often the single biggest factor in whether a site converts.
Page titles, meta descriptions, headings, schema, sitemaps, redirects from your old site and page speed should all be handled during the build. Fixing them later always costs more.
The build is only part of the picture. Once your site is live, expect to pay for:
A cheap build on slow hosting with no one looking after it can end up costing more than a well built site, simply because it never brings in work.
We keep it simple, because surprise invoices are the worst part of most web projects. There are two ways to work with us:
Third-party costs like your domain, hosting and premium plugins are always separate, and we tell you what they’ll be before anything is purchased. You can see the full breakdown on our pricing page.
Budget enough for a site that’s designed around your customers, built properly and set up for search, then make sure someone is looking after it once it’s live. If you’d like a fixed quote for your business, take a look at our web design service or book a free intro call and we’ll scope it with you.
